Thanks for Believing

Hey friends,


Over the last 3 months, I just want to say thanks. Thanks for your notes of encouragement, your faith, your prayers, your guidance. We believe with everything that we have that God is opening doors to bring Young Life to this area. He is moving in people's lives, and why? Because of his great love for all people... and he's preparing and using people who know him to say to kids, "Yeah, you're worth my time, my money, my life."

20 people have already committed to hosting tables at our banquet. We have just under 20% of our budget raised in both verbal pledges & and people who have already sent in their first checks and pledges to support Paola Young Life! People really believe in this ministry and with forward thinking vision have said - this is worth committing my time & money to. Thanks for believing.


It's humbling to realize that we really just have this opportunity to be a part of what God is doing. I've said before that he's just slapped the water, and we're riding the wave. We're pursuing his direction & his leading. And we're not unique. God is using all sorts of people across the city of Paola who have simply asked, "God, could you use me to reach kids?" I have a sense that if you spend time asking that prayer that even you could find that God has crazy faith adventure for you as you open up your life to Him.

Anyway, I just feel really settled right now. Not wildly excited, nor am I anxious. Just settled...that God that moves mountains is moving here.

Some of our goals for this year:
Raise our budget
Partner with 5 local churches (working with local youth ministries, volunteers, and creating Bible studies)
Take 15 kids to camp this year
Launch "Club", our weekly gatering, for High School students next fall.
20 Leaders serving, meeting kids, leading the "Committee" & other roles in YL.


Upcoming Banquet Progress
20 friends of Young Life have already committed to bringing their own friends & family to the Young Life Dessert Fundraiser on April 5! We plan on packing out Evergreen Events and sharing the Young Life story with over 200 people! This is our BIG annual fund-raiser for Young Life in Paola. If you'd like to attend, we will get you connected with one of our hosts to sit at their table. If you haven't heard from us and you'd like to come, let us know.
