Hey there everybody! This is Courtney, and this is my very first blog, so I apologize for it right now! :) Just wanted to let everyone know that Ryan and 15 kids and adult leaders headed off to Colorado to Frontier Ranch to experience the best week of their lives at camp. They actually left Saturday, May 30th, and they will be returning on Sunday, June 7th. I am totatlly jealous because I watched the camp promo video on the Young Life website for Frontier Ranch. It looks amazing. The camp is set on the side of the mountain and there are so many crazy things for the kids to do while they are there. (Rapelling, horseback rideing, white water rafting, ropes course, zip line, rock climbing, etc., etc., etc.)
I talked to Ryan one time since they arrived at camp, and he told me of how neat it was to watch two of the guys, Alex and Parker, experience the wonder of God's creation as they drove into Colorado. Alex and Parker had never seen the mountains before, and they were on the edge of their seats. How we often forget about how little we are, and how big God is. Do you remember the first time you saw the mountains?
The most important thing we hope the students do at camp is to find a relationship with Jesus Christ. If you are praying for us this week, we ask that you spend some time in prayer for the kids while they are at camp. Pray that they experience the best week of their lives, trying new, challanging adventures, and giving God the opportunity to work something great in their hearts. Pray for their safety. Pray for their return trip home. Pray for our role in their lives as they return home on cloud nine. . . . . we will be following up daily this first week with the kids when they return home, and hopefully beginning Paola's very first Young Life Campainer's Bible study.
In other news:
Thank you for supporting us with your prayers, and financial support. Ryan will spend this month after returning from camp really focused on completing our fundraising goals for the year. He is still working as a volunteer for Young Life, and we are hopeful that soon he can go on staff. Pray that God continues to provide for our needs while we work without Ryan's income. God has been faithful to us, and we trust Him.
I and the kids am headed to Iowa today to spend the rest of the week while Ryan is away with his parents. The air conditioner went out in our van, so it may be an interesting trip to Iowa and home!!! Keep the kids and I in your prayers too.
We are so thankful for you, and we covet your prayers for our family, and for Young Life's beginning in Paola, KS. We are super pumped to see what God has in store for this town, and we are super pumped to be a part of what He is doing.
