Things Happening

Carefully and steadily we've been climbing this hill to launch Young Life in our area... and we've passed some incredible milestones. I was reminded in church yesterday that when God calls, the calling may be an incredible challenge... and that circumstances don't (always) dictate where God's will is, and where it is not. Paul & Silas were in prison, and they could have easily said, "This is not God's will... it's too hard." But they were truly in the middle of his plan - as they shared Christ with the jailor that night and he and his family came to follow Him. So as we continue to take challenging strides toward making Young Life a reality here in our community - we embrace the opportunity to grow in our own walk with Christ, seeking his will, and accepting the challenges as well as the victories.

CAMP
2 weeks ago we had the privilidge of taking our first 13 high school friends to Young Life Camp in Buena Vista, CO. They were blown away. We pitched the camp, saying it will be "the best week of your life" and it was. Camp is an experience, so it's hard to describe in words... but I'll give you a few stats of some of the incredible things that happened while we were away.

2 friends on our trip had never seen the mountains!
4 friends recommitted their lives to Jesus.
1 friend gave his life to Christ.
100+ people at home wore armbands while we were at camp and prayed that individual friends would have a life-changing week.

We repelled off a cliff, go-karted on the side of a mountain, had an incredible hike, rode horseback, conquered the ropes course, danced, laughed, sang silly songs, jumped in the pool with our clothes on, and more! It's a blur to think of all the things that Young Life did for us while we were at camp.

We also had the privilidge of taking two very special guests, Sheila Majors & Edie Hewitt, to experience camp with us. Sheila is on our committee and has been a huge part in getting Young Life here. Edie is a ball of enthusiasm, and she and Sheila handed out the best hugs to our high school friends all week that we were at camp.

What an exciting opportunity to bring Young Life into our local communities. We embrace this opportunity to connect teens with larger-than-life opportunities that push and challenge them to know that GOD has a HUGE life & story planned for each of them.

WHAT'S BEEN HAPPENING
We've been making some significant progress in getting Young Life here. We're getting close to being fund-raised half-way! It appears that this may open some opportuities for us to bring Young Life to our community sooner than we thought... but we'll keep you posted on the progress.

Thank you for sharing in this ministry. God is using your prayers, encouragement, time & finances to set the stage for a great wave of salvation of kids in our community.

You were made for this,
Ryan
